Downloading Videos from Zoom

  1. Login to the SFA Zoom website (https://sfasu.zoom.us/) and select Recordings & Transcripts

  1. Click on the title of the video you want to download

 

  1. Click Download will begin downloading the Zoom recording, Audio Transcript (if enabled), and Chat file
    • If you want to only download the Zoom screen itself and do not need the Audio Transcript or Chat file, hover over the Share screen with speaker view and click the download icon
    • IMPORTANT NOTE: Sharing videos with student information or discussion could present FERPA and privacy issues. If your videos contain student discussion or work, we recommend sharing videos via Microsoft Stream.

 

  1. After clicking Download, you may receive a pop-up dialog box, click Download

 

  1. Once the recordings are downloaded, you should see them appear in the top right of your browser under downloads. You can also access your recordings in the Downloads file of your computer.

 

 

Upload Video to Microsoft Stream

  1. Login to mySFA
  2. Click the Microsoft Apps icon

 

 

  1. Click Continue on the dialog box in the new tab that opened

 

 

 

  1. Click Yes on the next dialog box

 

 

 

  1. Click the hamburger menu in the top left corner, type in Stream in the search bar, then click Stream

 

 

 

  1. Under Create new, select Upload

 

  1. In the pop-up File Explorer, locate the video you would like to upload, then click Open

 

  1. In the pop-up dialog box, confirm the upload location, then click Upload

 

  1. Stream will begin uploading the video. Upload progress will display in the bottom right corner

          

 

  1. Click Open on the uploaded file from Step 8, then click on Video Settings

 

  1. Stream will start to process the video. Some information, like the title of the video, will be pre-filled.

    • Below the video, be sure to title the video accurately and enter a description


  1. Wait for the video to finish processing. Do not close the window or press the X button. Doing so will cancel the upload and processing of the video.

 

Add Stream Video to D2L as a Single Content Page

  1. In Stream, scroll down to the filters, then click Created by me to see all of your previously uploaded videos

  1. Select the three dot icon in the bottom right of the thumbnail, click Share, then click Copy Link

NOTE: you may need to click Allow Microsoft to access your clipboard to successfully copy the link

 

  1. IMPORTANT STEP:
    • In the next pop-up, click Settings

 

  • Under The link works for, select People in Stephen F. A...e University
  • Under More settings, select Can't download
    • ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​This will allow ONLY users with SFASU accounts VIEW ONLY permission, meaning that they cannot edit, nor can they download the video​​​​​​​​​​​​
  • Click Apply

 

  1. The link is now copied to your clipboard and can be pasted into D2L/Brightspace

 

  1. Login to D2L. Select your course into which you want to load the video, and click Content

  2. Navigate to the module into which you want to load the video, click the blue New button, and select Create a Link

  3. In the pop-up window, provide a title in the Title box, and paste the link into the URL box

  4. Optionally, you can select the checkbox Open as External Resource to open the link in another tab

  5. Click the blue Create button

 

Add Stream Video to D2L as an Element in a Content Page

  1. Navigate to the content page to which you want to add your Microsoft Stream video

  2. Click Insert Link

 

  1. Paste in the link. Click Next

 

  1. Click Insert (lower left-hand corner)
