Originator:

You start the hiring process by creating and submitting requisitions.

  • Have you ever submitted a job posting to fill a position?
  • Do you expect to do that in the future?

 

Subject Matter Expert | Rater:

You help review applications and will interview candidates. You look at their education, experience, and qualifications.

  • Will you be a search committee member?
  • Will you be the search committee chair?

 

Approver:

You review and approve parts of the hiring process.

  • Do you expect to be part of the approval workflow for job postings? (e.g., Budget Office, Department Head, Dean, Vice President, or their proxy)

 

Hiring Manager:

You lead the hiring process. You might be the Department Head, or someone who makes the final hiring decision.

  • Are you in charge of selecting the final candidate?
  • If you complete the Hiring Manager training, you do not need to take the Originator training.
