General Information

All faculty, staff and students have access to Zoom through mySFA.

*Note: You will need a speaker, camera, and a microphone. 

  • If you are using a phone or tablet, these are built in

  • If you are using a PC, Mac, or Laptop you may need to add a speaker, a camera, or a microphone

 

Hosting Meetings on Zoom

  1. Go to https://sfasu.zoom.us
  2. Next, click on the Host button

  1. You may receive a prompt to install Zoom on your desktop -- at the bottom of the screen select Run, then wait for the install to complete



 

  1. Once the installation is complete, Zoom will launch your newly hosted Zoom call and prompt you to connect your audio
    • If you have a speaker and microphone connected to your PC, you can click Join with computer audio
      • ​​​​​​​Click Test speaker and microphone to ensure proper functionality
    • If you do not have a speaker and microphone connected to your PC, you can join via Phone call (Dial In)
      • Use your phone to Dial In to Zoom using one of the listed meeting phone numbers
        • When prompted, enter the Meeting ID followed by the # sign
        • When prompted, enter your Participant ID followed by the # sign

Note: If you accidentally close this window, click on Join Audio in the bottom left of the Zoom call to open the Audio Conference Options menu

 

Inviting Participants

  1. In your Zoom window, click the Participants icon, then click Invite

  1. You can then invite participants in one or more of the following ways:
    • Recommended (most common) Invite Methods:
      • Copy Invite Link: copies the link to the invite to your clipboard, which you can then paste directly into an email or Teams message to a participant
      • Copy Invitation: copies the invite itself to your clipboard, which you can then paste directly into an email, calendar invite/item, or Teams message to a participant
    • Other (less common) Invite Methods:
      • Contacts Tab: directly invite your Zoom contacts to your Zoom call
      • Email Tab: use your email service to invite participants via email
