Journal entries are digital notes used to document employee accomplishments, completed projects, performance observations, feedback, and development opportunities. Entries may be shared with employees or kept private, depending on the purpose of the note. These can be created at any time throughout the performance cycle and serve as a valuable reference when completing performance evaluation.
How to Create a Journal Entry
1. Sign into mySFA, and click Employee on the Quick Navigation menu to the left.

2. Click Access NEOED, which will bring up the NEOED Dashboard.

3. Under Quick Actions, select Write a Journal Entry.

4. In the Who is this entry about? field, select your own name or the name of an employee from the drop-down list.

5. Enter details about the accomplishment, task, project, contribution, or development opportunity you would like to document.

6. If none of the boxes are checked, the journal entry will remain private and is not shared with anyone. If one or more boxes are checked, visibility is granted as follows:

- Manager(s): Allows direct manager(s) to view the journal entry.
- Manager's Manager: Allows the employee's manager's manager to view the journal entry.

7. Select Submit Journal Entry to create the journal entry.

Journal entries can also be viewed and created through the Journal Hub.
- From the NEOED Dashboard, select Performance from the top navigation menu.
- Select Journal Hub to view existing entries or create new ones.

Helpful Tip
Creating journal entries regularly throughout the year can make the evaluation process more accurate by providing a record of accomplishments, feedback, and key performance discussions as they occur.
