Purpose:
The GRA/GTA Scholarship Application is a secure application allowing Graduate Students to apply for Graduate Research/Teaching Assistant Scholarships.
This process programmatically checks academic requirements, routes applications for review/decision, sends triggered email notifications, and
displays the application status.
Accessing the Application:
- Login to mySFA
- Student Employee Tab
- Benefits Portlet (heading)
- GRA/GTA Scholarship Application link
The scholarship application will open in a new tab.
Note: At any time, the student may return to the GRA/GTA Scholarship Application link in mySFA to see the status of their application.
Initial Messages:
Application Not Open:
- Action prohibited
- A message states the date the application opens for the term
Application Already Submitted:
- Action prohibited
- A message states that an application is on file detailing the term, submission date and status
Application Not Submitted:
- Action permitted
- A message states that there is not an application on file detailing the position and term
Submit Application:
- Read the page and linked policy
- Check the checkbox indicating the Graduate Assistantship Policy has been read
- Click Submit
- Clicking submit triggers the routing process to begin
Decision Routing:
- Once the application is submitted, a notification email is sent to the student's assigned supervisor listed in Banner that there is an application in their queue
- If the supervisor approves, a notification is sent to the Graduate School that there is an application in their queue
- If the Graduate School approves, the student receives an email to check their application status
- If the application is disapproved at any point in the process, the student receives an email to check their application status
