General Information:
Effective September 1, 2023, Stephen F. Austin State University (SFA) retiree benefits management moved to the University of Texas System (UTS). Management of benefits including additions and changes will be managed in software administered by SFA and UTS benefits teams.
Moving forward, retirees will utilize the mySFA portal and associated credentials to securely manage their benefits and access any additional helpful information. Below is the information necessary to create your mySFA password and enroll in Duo Security two-factor authentication. All future mySFA logins will require two-factor authentication utilizing Duo.
How to Setup your mySFA Account:

Go to http://mysfa.sfasu.edu/
- Click the First Time User link, located below the green Login button
- Enter your mySFA Username provided in your email/letter, then click the Next
- Enter your Last Name, then click Next
- Enter your Campus ID provided in your email/letter, then click Submit
- Choose either Send me an Email or Send me a Text Message
- Check your email or texts depending on the option you selected
- Enter the verification code, then click Submit
- To see the number you typed, click the eyeball button to the right.
- Create and Confirm your new password, then click Submit
- Must have at least 12 characters
- Must have at least 1 upper case letter, 1 lower case letter and 1 number
- Cannot be your username or contain your username
- You will immediately begin the required Duo Security Enrollment process
