Resetting Your mySFA Password

Students Only

If you forget your mySFA password, it can be reset via an SMS PIN code as long as you have been previously enrolled in the Password Reset Server (Thycotic). Click here to reset your password.

If your mobile phone number has changed or you have not enrolled yet and need a password reset, you will need to call the Help Desk at 936-468-HELP (4357). You can also go by the Help Desk location in the Ralph W. Steen Library for assistance.

If you have not yet been enrolled in the Password Reset Server, or still know your password, now would be a great time to complete enrollment!  

All students are encouraged to enroll by following these actions:  

  1. Go to the Password Reset Server.
  2. Login to complete your profile
  3. Enter your mySFA username and click "Logon".
  4. Complete Enrollment with your mobile phone number (PIN code sent via text).

New Password Criteria

Password requirements can be viewed by hovering the mouse pointer over the i (or informationicon.

At a minimum, all passwords must be 12 characters long and must contain at least 3 of the following 5 categories:

  • Uppercase Characters
  • Lowercase Characters
  • Base 10 Digits (0 through 9)
  • Non-Alphanumeric Characters
    1. ~ ! @ # $ % ^ & * _ - + = ' | \ ( ) { } [ ] : ; " < > , . ? / 
  • Any Unicode Character that is categorized as an alphabetic character, but is not uppercase or lowercase.
    1. This includes Unicode Characters from Asian languages

Your password may not be or contain your username.

You may not reuse your last 10 passwords.
