What is a time ticket?
A time ticket is an assigned registration window that indicates when a current student is eligible to enroll in courses. Time tickets are assigned to student accounts shortly before the registration period for each term begins and are based on a student’s priority group.
Why am I receiving an error that I do not have a registration time ticket?
This error may occur for several reasons, including:
- Your matriculation period has closed, and you must to reapply to the university. Matriculation periods close when a student does not attend for the semester they were admitted or does not attend for three consecutive semesters, including the summer term.
- You have submitted a graduation application.
- Your admissions application has not yet been processed, or a decision is still pending.
What is a hold?
A hold is a restriction placed on a student account that may prevent registration. A list of possible holds and the appropriate contacts for resolving them is available on our website.
Why am I encountering an error when attempting to register?

What should I do if I receive a major/minor restriction when registering?
You should contact the academic department associated with the course for assistance.
Why does a course appear to have an open seat but still requires me to join the waitlist?
If a course has reached full capacity, any newly available seats are first offered to students on the waitlist. Although the course may appear to have an open seat, only students on the waitlist may register until the waitlist has been fully cleared.
