How to archive email in Outlook for Windows

Answer
  1. First, open Outlook email on your computer
  2. Next, click on File in the menu bar at the top

  3. This will bring you to the “Account Information” window
  4. Click on Cleanup Tools  
  5. Click on Archive
  6. This will bring up the Archive window

     

     

  7. Make sure you select the top line represented by the blue arrow in the above screen shot.
  8.  Notice the green circled area in the screen shot above.  This is where you decide on how far back to keep your emails in your live email or move them Archive.  As in the example above, I decided I only wanted my email going 2 years back to stay in my live email inbox.  Everything before this date will be moved to my local email on my local computer in an archive folder.
  9. Once you are ready click OK
  10. Notice you now have an Archive area now in your folder area of Outlook.
