Request to unblock a website for cybersecurity course

Currently, the website www.bettercap.org is blocked on SFA wired network but is allowed on the wireless networks. What is Bettercap? Bettercap is a powerful, easily extensible and portable framework written in Go which aims to offer to security researchers, red teamers and reverse engineers an easy to use, all-in-one solution with all the features they might possibly need for performing reconnaissance and attacking WiFi networks, Bluetooth Low Energy devices, CAN-bus, wireless HID devices and Ethernet networks (https://github.com/bettercap/bettercap).

It is a well-known tool for cybersecurity training, research, and education. And it will be used in a cybersecurity course I am teaching in the Computer Science Department, however, students are not able to download the tool because the website is blocked. I am requesting to have the website unblocked so I can continue my teaching.

For your reference, there is another similar tool called Ettercap, but its website is not blocked: https://www.ettercap-project.org. It seems that the policy for blocking websites is not consistent.

Requests to add or modify an existing firewall rule can be made using this ticket - https://help.sfasu.edu/TDClient/2027/Portal/Requests/ServiceDet?ID=27547

When creating a ticket, I was asked to provide IP address and MAC address. I am requesting to unblock the site for our lab computers, so there will be multiple IP addresses and MAC addresses. How can I do that? This is not a request for a specific device. - Jianjun Zheng Thu 9/19/24 11:45 AM
