iOS Version Support
Duo Mobile requires a supported version of iOS. If your device is running an older iOS version, you may not be able to install or update Duo Mobile.
- We recommend keeping iOS updated to the latest version available for your device.
- To check your iOS version: Settings → General → About.
Duo Verified Push (Primary Method)
SFA’s primary authentication method is Duo Verified Push, which uses number matching to help prevent phishing.
- Sign in with your SFA username and password.
- A three-digit number appears on your screen.
- Open Duo Mobile and approve the request by selecting the matching number.

Duo Mobile sends a push notification when a login requires verification. If you do not receive prompts, verify that notifications are enabled for Duo Mobile.
Check notification settings:
- Settings → Notifications → Duo Mobile
- Turn on Allow Notifications and ensure alerts are enabled.
Passcodes (Offline Option)
Duo Mobile can generate a one-time passcode you can type in when you cannot use Verified Push (for example, if you have limited connectivity).
- Open Duo Mobile and tap your SFA account to view a passcode.
- Enter the passcode when prompted by the Duo login screen.
Adding Accounts to Duo Mobile
Most users will add their SFA account during enrollment by scanning a QR code in the Duo Universal Prompt.
Tip:
If you are replacing a phone or adding a new device, use the Duo Prompt device management options if available, or contact the IT Help Desk for assistance.
Removing Accounts
Be careful when removing accounts in Duo Mobile. Deleting an account may require reactivation before you can use it again.
- Open Duo Mobile and locate the account you want to remove.
- If you are unsure, contact the IT Help Desk before deleting an account.
Backup & Restore (Moving to a New iPhone/iPad)
If you are moving to a new iOS device or reinstalling Duo Mobile, follow SFA’s Duo Restore guidance to reconnect your Duo-protected account(s).
