How to connect to SFA-Wireless

SFA supports a wide variety of networked devices on campus, though all devices must be registered in order to have internet access. To begin, we recommend registering your personal computer and smartphone to SFA-WIRELESS first, as some devices require a registered and connected computer and/or smartphone as part of their own registration process.

Smartphones

  1. Turn off mobile data, then connect the smartphone to the SFA-WIRELESS network and enter the password “golumberjacks” without quotes when prompted. You won’t have internet access until the device is registered, even though it’s connected.
  2. Disable the Private Address (iPhone) or Randomized Mac Address (Android) setting by tapping the blue "i" icon (iPhone) or the gear icon (Android) to the right of the entry for SFA-WIRELESS in your list of available networks.
  3. Open your phone’s web browser and navigate to https://saturn.sfasu.edu/registration/index-registration.jsp (or just type in www.go.com and you'll be redirected)
  4. This takes you to the SFA Network Registration page. Scroll down to accept the terms, click on the “Users” option, and fill in the required information, then click “Login”.
  5. If registration was successful, you’ll see a progress bar fill up over 45 seconds. Once it completes, close your browser, re-open it, and you’ll have internet access.

Laptops & Desktops

  1. Connect to the SFA-WIRELESS network and enter the password “golumberjacks” without quotes when prompted, or plug in your ethernet cable. If you choose to use a wired connection, disable your wireless connection first. You computer may inform you that your connection is limited or may require sign-in. This is normal.
  2. (Windows 10 only) Click Start > gear icon (Settings) > Network & Internet > WiFi > Set "Use random hardware addresses" to OFF.
  3. Open your web browser and navigate to https://saturn.sfasu.edu/registration/index-registration.jsp (or just type in www.go.com and you'll be redirected)
  4. This takes you to the SFA Network Registration page. Accept the terms, click on the “Users” option, and fill in the required information, then click “Login”.
  5. If registration was successful, you’ll see a progress bar fill up over 45 seconds. Once it completes, close your browser, re-open it, and you’ll have internet access.

Other Devices

While a wide variety of devices will work on our network, some do not have a setup process that’s easy to describe. If you can’t seem to get your device registered using these instructions, bring your device by the Help Desk on the first floor of the Ralph W. Steen Library, located at the front desk of the big computer lab. We’ll be happy to help you get your device connected and ready to go.
