New “Report Phish” Button Coming Soon

Sent 9/29/2025

Dear Lumberjacks,

Stephen F. Austin State University is committed to protecting our community from phishing and other email-based threats. To make reporting suspicious emails easier and more effective, Information Technology Services is rolling out a new Report Phish button.

What’s changing:

  • The button is now called Report Phish.
  • Reports will be processed faster and with greater accuracy.
  • Enhanced integration with our security tools provides stronger protection for the campus community.

What you need to know:

  • The new Report Phish button will be pushed out to all faculty, staff, and students over the next few days. If you don’t see it right away, no action is needed, your email client will update automatically.
  • The old Phish Alert button has been removed. Please use the new Report Phish button going forward to report any suspicious or malicious emails.

Thank you for helping keep our campus secure. If you have questions about the new Report Phish button, please contact the ITS Help Desk at 936-468-4357 (HELP) or submit a ticket at help.sfasu.edu.
