Using Duo Mobile for Third-Party Accounts
Quick Overview
- Explains how to use Duo Mobile with non-SFA services
- Applies to personal or third-party accounts that support authenticator apps
- Uses QR codes or setup keys to generate passcodes
- Third-party accounts are separate from SFA Duo enrollment
Duo Mobile can be used as an authenticator app for third-party websites and services that support one-time passcodes. This allows you to use the same Duo Mobile app for both SFA authentication and personal or external accounts.
What Are Third-Party Accounts
Third-party accounts are accounts that are not managed by SFA but allow multi-factor authentication using an authenticator app.

- Personal email providers
- External collaboration platforms
